THE ROLE
The Senior Manager of Partnerships and Proposals reports to the Director of Partnerships. This role will significantly contribute to the growth of SchoolKit’s work. The Senior Manager of Partnerships and Proposals will support a variety of business development functions, with a primary focus on managing the authorship of formal proposals in response to district and state-level solicitations, including Request for Proposals (RFPs).
This position requires exceptional technical writing and communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills and attention to detail. A successful candidate can set timelines and execute across multiple proposal deadlines effectively, manage multiple stakeholders across a variety of SchoolKit teams, and craft compelling and persuasive documents that clearly outline SchoolKit’s services, experience, and capabilities. The Senior Manager, Partnerships and Proposals will also support the development and management of informal client proposals and provide additional support for business development projects as needed. This includes conducting client research and collecting and organizing data within our Customer Relationship Management system (CRM), Monday.com.
This position can be based from a home office anywhere in the U.S. Depending on location, expected travel time is 10 - 15% for company or team retreats, and other events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Proposal Management (40-50%)
- Develop and implement proposal work plans, timelines, and tools to manage the entire proposal process efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Analyze RFPs, RFIs, and other solicitations to help SchoolKit determine fit, highlight key requirements, and facilitate go/no-go decisions
- Track and manage multiple concurrent proposal projects while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Set timelines and manage the compilation of all proposal components, ensuring a cohesive and professional presentation.
- Ensure proposals comply with RFP instructions, adhere to submission deadlines, and meet the highest standards of quality.
- Facilitate internal check-ins and reviews to ensure alignment, progress, appropriate approvals, and timely submission.
Proposal Writing (40-50%)
- Collaborate with team members to gather technical details and to articulate solutions that accurately represent SchoolKit’s strategy and capabilities
- Write clear, concise, and persuasive content tailored to meet client needs and expectations.
- Customize boilerplate content, budgets, and pricing to align with specific client requirements while maintaining consistency and quality.
- Edit and proofread content to eliminate errors and improve overall clarity and coherence.
- Use existing tools and templates to create simple proposal pricing
Special Projects (10-20%)
- Maintain a library of reusable proposal content, including resumes, past performance, and service descriptions
- Conduct research to strategically identify potential SchoolKit customers at both the state and district levels
- Leverage CRM tools such as Monday.com to track proposal outcomes and analyze pipeline information
- Collaborate with teammates to refine and develop SchoolKit’s pricing and service models
- Support the Director of Partnerships and SchoolKit’s President in identifying market opportunities that are well-suited to SchoolKit’s existing service offerings
EXPERIENCE
- 5 years of proven experience writing proposals with a strong portfolio of successful proposals.
- At least 3 years of writing state-level or federal proposals that comply with local, state, and federal procurement processes, preferably for K-12 education.
- At least 3 years of experience project managing complex proposal processes

- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional written communication skills
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work effectively and efficiently across multiple teams
- Strong organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Proficiency in Google collaboration products (Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides)
- Experience with Monday.com or other CRM systems a plus
COMPENSATION
Our compensation philosophy is centered on supporting your overall well-being—professionally, personally, and financially.
The starting salary band for this position will be between $85,000 - $95,000 and is highly dependent on experience. Salaries are reviewed annually and adjusted based on cost-of-living adjustments. SchoolKit also offers employees an annual discretionary bonus.
