THE ROLE
The Math Specialist reports to the Director of Math on the Content and Training team.  In this role, you will lead the development of 6 - 12 mathematics training and content-specific resources, with a focus on 9 - 12 math.  You will work alongside our staff, lead teams of contractors, and collaborate with clients to successfully deliver training and coach leaders to support use of high-quality instructional materials.  This role requires deep knowledge of mathematics content and pedagogy, the ability to manage multiple work streams and timelines, and the ability to coach leaders and facilitate adult learning for K - 12 educators. This position can be based from a home office anywhere in the U.S. Depending on location, expected travel time is 25 - 30%. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
Content and Training Development (60%)
  • Develop trainings and materials for teachers and leaders focused on high-quality instructional materials and standards-aligned instructional topics in 6 - 12 mathematics. 
  • Develop content-specific resources for 6 - 12 mathematics, such as frameworks, case studies, model lessons, reports, and content-specific activities
  • Manage training and resource development workstreams and timelines across multiple projects 
  • Engage with project teams and clients to collect feedback and customize training and content-specific resources
  • Manage and coach contracted staff to develop training materials and content-specific resources 
Service Delivery (30%)
  • Facilitate adult learning experiences for school, district, and state leaders
  • Train and coach employees and contracted staff to prepare for and deliver onsite and remote training
  • Directly coach school leaders to build capacity and support implementation of high-quality instructional materials or evidence-based instructional practices 
  • Coordinate onsite and remote project logistics among SchoolKit team members, clients, and partner organizations as needed on projects 
Strategy and Service Development (10%) 
  • Collaborate with teammates to create tools, techniques, and training to develop our internal capacity to deliver content and professional learning to educators 
  • Build knowledge and expertise on content-specific, evidence-based practices and resources to refine SchoolKit’s content and training

EXPERIENCE
  • 3+ years of experience as a 6 - 12 math teacher, with 2+ years of experience as an 6 - 12 math instructional leader (instructional coach, department lead, assistant principal, curriculum manager, master teacher, etc.)
  • Experience designing and delivering 6 - 12 math professional learning to teachers and leaders. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of 6 - 12 math content and instructional practices, with a focus on grades 9 - 12. 
  • Comprehensive understanding of and experience with college and career-ready standards and assessments in 6 - 12 math, with a focus on grades 9 - 12. 
  • Experience with implementation of high-quality instructional materials aligned to college and career-ready standards
  • Knowledge of best practices and experience coaching educators 
  • A bachelor’s degree, Masters degree in education or related field preferred

COMPENSATION
The starting salary for this position will be between $85,000 - 95,000 and is dependent on experience.
