THE ROLE
We are seeking a part-time Project Director to support the management of our training, coaching, and strategic planning partnerships with schools, districts, and state agencies.  This part-time role will report to SchoolKit’s President. In this role, you will directly lead and manage teams to lead projects of varying complexity and scope focused on high-quality instructional materials.  The work will involve creating and executing project plans with clients as well as coaching staff members and consultants to lead client meetings and deliver high impact training and coaching for educators.  This is a part-time, non-exempt, virtual position, with expected travel based on project scope.  

RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management and Work (50%)
  • Responsible for the overall success of the project and management of the project team. 
  • Own the creation of project plans, including timelines and tasks, for completion of the entire project scope of work at a high level of quality. 
  • Partner with the SchoolKit Account Manager to revise scopes of work as needed, including developing new scopes of work
  • Own internal project team communications and project planning, including team meetings, etc.
  • Own completion and accuracy of all project information and approve logistical plans for onsite and remote work. 
  • Own staffing of collaborators for the project in consultation with other project team members.
  • Own project work assignments in TalentDesk and communications to collaborators about billing and time management on projects.
  • Engage in other work required by project scopes that may include leading professional learning sessions, providing coaching, or leading committee planning meetings.

Supporting Colleagues (30%)
  • Manage and coach contracted Project Leads on day-to-day management of the project.
  • Manage and support Project Leads’ client engagement and communications
  • Provide feedback for project team members that report to them (if applicable).
  • Manage and support instructional coaches or other specialized roles (if applicable).

Client Engagement (20%) 
  • Engage and build strong relationships with the client project manager and high-level leaders.  
  • Own the client relationship for overall project management and project success.  

EXPERIENCE
  • 10+ years of experience in the education sector with at least 3 years of this experience in a district or state-level leadership or school leadership role (principal equivalent, not coach or AP)
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and workstreams; experience with project management software is preferred, but not required. 
  • A successful track record of leading instructional initiatives in partnership with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with implementation of high-quality instructional materials aligned to college and career-ready standards
  • Knowledge of and experience providing recommendations on the full range of decisions that leaders can make at the school level to improve instruction
  • Knowledge of best practices and experience coaching instructional leaders
  • A bachelor’s degree, Masters degree in education or related field preferred

COMPENSATION
This is part-time hourly position with the person in this role typically performing 60 - 80 hours of work per month. The hourly rate for this position is $110 - $120 per hour. The end date for this role is June 30, 2023.
