ABOUT SCHOOLKIT
We are a team of experienced educators who train and support schools, districts, and states to help all students meet college and career-ready standards. Working in partnership with local educators, we help improve instruction and leadership through content and curriculum-specific training, coaching, and strategic planning. Together, we build schools and systems that help all students succeed.  More information about our current and past work is available at www.schoolkitgroup.com.

THE ROLE
SchoolKit is seeking Texas-based independent contractors to serve as Instructional Coaches & Training Facilitators to support our partnerships with K-12 school districts across Texas and with the Texas Education Agency. This is not a full-time role as we are asking coaches and facilitators to commit to a maximum of 100 hours of work over the course of the 2022-2023 school year.

We are seeking candidates with deep content knowledge and experience in the content areas of  K-12 Math, K-5 Science, K-12 RLA (Reading Language Arts), and K-12 SLAR (Spanish Language Arts).

Applicants can apply for one or both of the following roles:
  • Instructional Coaches will provide coaching (remote and onsite) to school leaders who are in the process of implementing high-quality instructional materials in RLA, SLAR, math, and science. They will use SchoolKit’s tools and approach to help leaders deepen their knowledge of specific content areas and then engage in instructional leadership activities (leading instructional planning, conducting observations and providing feedback, and responding to student data) to strengthen instruction in their buildings. Ideal candidates possess a minimum of 3 years in an instructional leadership role (principal, assistant principal, instructional coach) and experience coaching/developing school leaders.

  • Training Facilitators will facilitate full- and half-day trainings (remote and onsite) for teachers and leaders that are focused on content and grade-level specific best practices for instruction in specific content areas.  These trainings will focus on high-quality instructional materials so that participants/teachers have the tools they need to deliver rigorous instruction to all students. Ideal candidates posses a minimum of 5 years teaching in specific content areas/grade level bands of focus, prior experience delivering content-specific training to other educators.

EXPERIENCE
For both roles described above, the following are desired but not required:
  • Experience teaching or leading national or Texas-specific/Texas Home Learning versions of the following curricula:
    • Great Minds PhD Science
    • Eureka Math K-5
    • Carnegie Math 6-12
    • Amplify RLA K-8
    • Odell High School Literacy Program 9-12
  • The ability to travel at least once a month to deliver in-person coaching sessions and trainings
  • Significant availability to provide training during the summer (ideally, 3-5 days per month)
